Last Updated: August 2026 • Effective: Immediately • Controller: Mutefe Global Operations
This Privacy Policy ("Policy") describes how Mutefe ("we," "our," or "us") collects, stores, protects, uses, and shares personal data, and outlines your rights and choices regarding your privacy when accessing our luxury perfumery storefront, atelier studio tools, and concierge services (collectively, "Services").
This Policy is incorporated into and forms an integral part of our General Terms and Conditions of Sale. By accessing or using Mutefe in any manner, you acknowledge and agree that your data will be handled in accordance with this Policy.
Overview & Scope
Mutefe is dedicated to upholding the highest standards of data stewardship and privacy ethics. We treat collector and artisan information with the same uncompromising precision we apply to luxury olfactory curation.
You may withdraw your consent for optional data processing activities at any time by contacting our concierge team; however, such withdrawal does not impact processing conducted lawfully prior to withdrawal.
When This Privacy Policy Applies
This Policy applies to all digital interactions across Mutefe (including mutefe.com, the Atelier Dashboard, our checkout systems, and concierge message channels).
This Policy does not apply to third-party platforms or independent courier entities that Mutefe does not own or control. When redirected to external payment gateways or carrier portals, their respective privacy notices apply.

How We Use Information
We process personal information for legitimate business and transactional purposes, including:

- Concierge & Customer Support: Responding to inquiries, resolving delivery claims, and assisting with fragrance recommendations.
- Trust & Verification: Screening against fraudulent orders, authenticating atelier formulations, and maintaining platform security.
- Curated Communications: Sending order dispatch notices, batch aging updates, and optional limited-edition announcements.

Communication Preferences
You can control your subscription preferences for private vault releases and olfactory newsletters via your account settings or through the unsubscribe link in our emails. Transactional emails (order confirmations, waybills, security alerts) are mandatory for order fulfillment.
Accounts & Atelier Profiles
Registration: To list or order creations, users must register with verifiable contact coordinates. Atelier partners undergo identity and botanical authenticity verification.
Public Profile: Atelier names, brand stories, and catalog listings are publicly visible across the marketplace. Private collector information is never made public.
Data Retention: We retain account and transaction records for the duration of your account activity, and as required by tax, accounting, and international trade law.
Favorites & Olfactory Follows
When you save fragrances to your curation list or follow specific African master perfumers, we use these preferences to notify you of rare harvests, restocks, or new seasonal extraits from those ateliers.
User Content & Tasting Notes
Collector reviews, sensory ratings, and fragrance reviews submitted to Mutefe are published on product pages to assist fellow collectors in understanding silage, longevity, and olfactory notes.
Direct Atelier Inquiries
When you submit an inquiry regarding bespoke formulation, custom volume, or maceration aging to an Atelier, relevant details of your inquiry are transmitted securely to that specific studio to enable direct communication.
Aggregated & Sensory Telemetry
We may aggregate anonymized purchasing patterns, fragrance note popularity, and geographical demand trends for industry reports, botanical harvest planning, and marketplace optimization.
Payment Information & Escrow
Payment transactions on Mutefe are encrypted using TLS 1.3 and handled directly by PCI-DSS Level 1 certified processors (Stripe). Mutefe never stores full credit card numbers or raw banking CVVs on our servers.
External Services & Couriers
Our platform may contain links to external publications, master perfumer interviews, or logistics carrier tracking tools. We encourage you to review their independent privacy practices.
